I'm trying to install Sql Server 2000 (Personal or Developer Edition) on XP SP2 pc, but when Setup is running last step "Configuring Server.." an error appears,
It creates a log File telling me about that an Instalation Program Can't Configure Server.
Another error is 'ODBC CONTROLER' DATA SOURCE NAME NO EXISTS AND THERE IS NO COTROLLER ESPECIFIED'
Warning: override, autoexec procedure skipped.
SQL Server is terminating due to 'stop' request from Service Control Manager.
Any Idea to fix it?

Been a while but I believe you have to have File and Print Sharing on before the install will work. Can't remember if this was the message thou.

Just for grins...go to Microsoft's website and download the latest MDAC version. See if that solves the problem.

The usual with XP is to check you have all the permissions you need - you are running the install with local Admin rights...?
I'd be surprised if it's MDAC (though that's given plenty of grief in the past) - MS have got it pretty well integrated with the OS patches now.
