Enterprise Manager Error on Script Generation

  • (SQL Server 2000 Client tools on a XP Pro Workstation accessing a SQL Server 2000 Enterprise with Windows 200 Advanced Server.)

I try to go in and generate a script of the indexes of a table using Enterprise Manager and I get the following error:

    [SQL-DMO]Create File error on 'Servername.Databasename.DP1'.

Both machines have SP4 installed and all of windows latest updates.  I have tried to reinstall the client tools on my workstation, but I still get the same error.

It used to work, but I assume that one of the Windows Updates overwrote something.  That's why I tried to reinstall.

I can access this machine and generate scripts from other machines, just not mine.

    Any ideas?

  • To my knowledge, one reason for this is MCAFee Virus Program.

MCAFee creates problem with Windows-XP but not with Windows 2000.

If MCAFee is installed, then uninstall that and try using another anti-virus or think of second option of installing windows 2000.

    Hope this helps,
