Hey out there! I'm so stuck. Anyone have any idea why Enterprise Manager just won't open for me anymore??? Doesn't even give me an error just says Microsoft Management Console has encountered an error and asks if I want to send the error report. Maybe I'm not even in the right section of this forum group, but if anyone has any ideas about what is wrong I would surely appreciate the input!
thanks

What is the exact error message you get?
I've seen such problems before. Mostly they could be solved by deleting the file SQL Server Enterprise Manager in the directory Documents and Settings \ < user id > \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ MMC
Hope I get the correct translation from German to English on the path.
Anyway, you might consider this as a sign to use QA instead of EM from now on

I have seen this problem before a couple of times. Both times MMC was completely broken, not only for Enterprise Manager. Our infrastructure guys were trying to do something, ended up reimaging the computer.
Try this to confirm where the problem is and let us know:
Start -> Run
mmc /a
(this should open MMC in the Author mode, let us know if this action post the error) In the console:
Console ->Add/Remove Snap-in (Windows 2000)
File ->Add/Remove Snap-in (Windows XP)
Add
And try to add a snap-in for Enterprise Manager or any other one. Try to use it this way. You may also save it. I remember once the error was posted about MMC being broken when adding the snap-in
