  • If you're running on Windows Server 2003, you'll need to set up DTC for network access. If you recently applied SP1 for Windows Server 2003, realize that even if you have the settings correct before, the service pack resets them. Here is an article that will help you out if running on Windows Server 2003 is the issue:

  • Did you get this error every time when you started a distributed transaction, or just occasinally?

There is a ms kb article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307802 for sql 2000. Not sure it's helpful or not.

  • Even I am getting the same error.I am running on Windows Server 2003 with SP1

    Please Help!!!

  • I summarized the solution to the MSDTC issue in one of my blog. Take a look and see whether it's helpful.
