    That said it: happiness comes from within yourself, as Manie pointed out. Your attitude makes a difference. That's why we have optimistic and pessimistic as characters. You can make a difference not only to yourself, but also to others.

    In a perfect world yes, sadly in reality there are many more factors out of your control.
