Enforce password policy/Enforce password expiration

  Hello - using SQL 2008 Enterprise, Windows 2008 Enterprise.

  I have a login that uses SQL Server authentication.

  "Enforce policy password" is checked but "Enforce password expiration" is not.

  The login is used in a connection string and the user complained that the password expired.

  Could this happen if "Enforce policy password" is checked?

  What is the point of "Enforce password expiration" if "Enforce policy password" over rides?

  Does "Enforce policy password" check the policy set in Active Directory?

  With Enforce password policy on it sets the sql server password policy the same as the domain. You would also need to set the password to not expire.
