What would happened to SQL login account if I checked on 'Enforce password policy' only but not on 'Enforce password expiration' option?
Previously all SQL login accounts were created without these options checked.
Will SQL login will be prompt, immediately, for to change new password to comply with 'Enforce password policy' setting?
Or nothing will happen because 'Enforce password expiration' option is not checked? This is what I think but since this is production environment, I want to check before I take any action. I don't want applications using sql account start failing.
Thank you in advance for your time and help.

I guess...nothing should happen... it should take in effect after you try to change password of the login...
Dont you have any dev environment, where you can change and check ?

Sushant, thanks for your response. I tested on Dev/test server manually with logging in and out before checking on 'Enforce password policy' and after. It did not prompt me to change password. My initial password does not contain number, upper case or nothing like that.
But I have not tested using application since I don't have test application. Thank you.

Larry
