Encryption tools

    Can anyone help me, i need to know which is the best encryption tool for SQL 2000, i want to use one of these :

    - Protegrity Defiance DPS

    - Decru Datafort

    - Vormetric Coreguard

    i think the best encryption tools are the ones you own the source code for; as a result, i would lean towards using the tools available below before i would ever consider a third party application;

    with that, you own all the code, decide yourself what seed values are used for the keys, and can easily test the results with the supplied procedures.

    the tools you mention may be worthwhile; maybe others can put in their two cents if they have experience with them.
