Encryption at a database level on SQL Server

  Hi All,

  I need to know what options are available for doing encryption at a database level (similar to Advanced Security Option for Oracle) on SQL Server and what verison of the database (2005, 2008, etc) and level of the database (standard vs. Enterprise edition) is required to implement it.

  If any one knows about this,Please let me know because I need to work on it IMMD..

  SQL Server 2008 (or 2008 R2 ) Enterprise Edition is required to do Transparent Data Encryption.

  You can read about it in SQL Server 2008 Books Online.
