    So BOL is probably not quite accurate in saying:

    Support for AWE is available only in the Enterprise and Developer editions and only applies to 32-bit operating systems.

    Again, we are using SS2005 Standard Edition 32-bit on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise.

    i pointed this out before on another post. SQL 2005 std will address OS max RAM so logically if thats the case how could AWE not be available.

    and you will find different info as below

    Support for AWE is available only in the SQL Server 2005 Enterprise, Standard, and Developer editions and only applies to 32-bit operating systems. SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS) cannot take advantage of AWE mapped memory. If the available physical memory is less than the user mode virtual address space, AWE cannot be enabled.
