I am trying to embed a spreadsheet in an email sent using the Send Mail Task in SSIS. The spreadsheet gets embeded as the message source but displays all the formatting characters. Is there a way to configure Send Mail Task to display the spreadsheet and not the formatting characters? Thanks.

How are you embedding the spreadsheet? What format is your email, plain-text or HTML?
You might be better served attaching the spreadsheet to the email, or getting your results in HTML format.

watching this topic, to see if it's possible.
personally I always make CSV or HTML files and change their extension to .XLS, so I never automate Excel, and I've always just attached items, never embedded.
performance wise, excel is slow compared to raw text manipulation.

Same here... in most cases we embed or attach HTML file, in some special cases we attach Excel file. But I have never tried to embed Excel into a mail.
