I tick this box each time I post (including this one) but I have not received any emails for 2-3 days. I receive the newsletter and any emails for forum subscriptions. I have updated my profile every day but to no avail.
Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

I hate to say it with Michael Jackson, but 'You are not alone'.
It seems like a pingpong game. For some hours I do receive mails, then again not a single one.
Btw, I don't check this option. I rely on the subscription settings.

Same with me.
It will be better if default of this option is set to true.
In other forums defult is set.

Yes, that's right, but it is no explanation why subscription is working, not working, working....
Somethings rotten in the state of Denmark!

My subscription has not been working ever since I changed my email address

FYI, On my end, the subscriptions seem to work for a little while just after I un-subscribe, then re-subscribe.
Like david, I also check the "notify by email" checkbox on my posts. My 2 cents: the default should be whatever the value was the last time I posted.
Seems this site gets A LOT more traffic (posts) when the subscriptions and notifications thru email are working.
Once you understand the BITs, all the pieces come together

Im knee deep in the conversion to our new system. Hang in there a bit longer. Lots of odds and ends to track down. It does support email notifications as well.
