Email Database on Win2K ?

    Hi all,

    I was referred to this forum by someone at Webhostingtalk.com. Looks like a good community resource!

    I'm interested in emailing myself a copy of a database on a Win2K server running SQL 2000. It has an automatic tape backup, but I'm scared that in the event of fire, the entire datacenter is lost, and the backups would be useless.

    I can easily accomplish the task of emailing myself a dump of a database on a *nix system, but don't know how to email (or backup to an FTP for that matter) from Win2k, automatically.

    If you have SQL Mail configured, you can create a job that post the mail to your adress and attach the .bak file. Use xp_sendmail @recipients = 'email adress',

    @attachments = 'path of bak.'
