Once again, Steve, you make a great observation, "this is a partnership." Reaching way back to Greenbelt, Blackbelt and Design for Six-Sigma days, what was stressed at the forefront was "voice of the customer". It was imperative to understand what the need was and then design the most cost-effective solution. I have found in my career the importance of establishing rapport with my customers and acknowledging the value of their thoughts and visions. Earning their trust by providing the solutions they asked for enabled me to more easily guide them through the technology upgrades. Regardless of what we call the process (Scrum, Agile, DevOPs, OpsDev) working together with the customers is still the best way.

Thanks, I think that a lot of DevOps started out as let's be partners, but the automation overshadowed things and too many people don't act as partners with their clients.
