Effect of Migration from SQL Server 7 to SQL Server 2000

    Hi,

    I work on a system with 20+ databases in SQL Server 7. Many Web applications and VB applications depend on this Server.

    The database would have to migrate to 2000.

    My question is what effect will be on this applications due to this migration - what precautions/checks I need to take in these applications so that the system remains undisturbed.

    If you're migrating to a new server and use DSNs, make sure that they are updated with the new server name, or if the connection string is hard-coded, then change the server name there.
