Edition Upgrade from MS SQL 2012 C0 to MS SQL 2012 Enterprise

  • I have attempted an Edition upgrade from MS SQL Server 2012 C0 to MS SQL Server Enteprise on two occassions and in both cases I find that the DB Engine was not upgraded ony the shared components. Any ideas please?

what steps did you take to complete the upgrade?

    Is the instance clustered?

  • The instance is not clustered.

I ran setup and used the maintenance> Edition Upgrade option on installation centre.

In my case we are already past 180 days so I can no longer access the instance to check @@version. Could this be the reason.

  • Select @@version is the command to give you information about sql server edition that is used. If you cannot even go to the instance have you try restarting the service?

Yes I have tried restarting even the server. I cannot use @@version since when I try to access SSMS I get the error that the evaluation period is over.

  • I never face something like that. Maybe you should try to do the setup once again, normally it should be upgrade the edition. Good luck!!
