Hi, is there anyway to stop the e-mails that are sent when someone replies to your thread?

I asked the same question a while ago.
The subscription type chosen on replies is saved as the default. So reply to this thread and set Topic Subscription Notification Type to "Do Not Subscribe" in the next section down.

keep in mind that calvo's fix is a machine-specific fix. If you post from multiple PC's, you need to do that from EACH machine.
You can change your notifications on the existing threads by clicking on control panel, then going into "Topic subscriptions".

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

Is there a way to change the default setting so that you wouldn't have to do this for each thread you participate in?

Each time you post, you can set a new default.

It will keep your most recent option as your default.
BUT, that's only for the machine you posted from. And for the browser you were using at that time, if I'm not mistaken. If you choose No Notification at work, and then go home, you'll have a different setting at home. But when you go back to work the next day, you'll still have No Notification there.
Personally, I really, really wish they'd make it account-based. It's pretty dumb that it's not. But that's the way it is right now, computer-based. Means it's a cookie, not a setting in the database behind the site.
