I was wondering if anyone has any expereince of using the Dynamics AX 2009 variant of SSRS in either 2005 or 2008?
Due to the AX database design it is a real struggle to write any raw SQL against the database to get data out effectivly.
I am trying to write reports and it seems so far removed from the reporting services that I am familiar with that I would appreciate any pointers to hints and tips.

Currently i'm developing reports for Dynamics AX4.0.

Correct me if I am wrong but does AX 4.0 use filtered views to pull data back when used with SSRS.
In AX 2009 you retreive data from the AOT Query objects. As such there is a dramatically reduced ability to write any meaningful SQL against them.

Hi, you can create reports with the report designer of Ax 2009 or you can use visual studio 2005/2008 to connect with Ax data directly and create your own reports.
