Hello
Does anybody know the easiest way to guarantee that a matrix report item will fit on a page
I have a report that lists sales per region, per day
Rows are regions and columns are days
Days work on a month to date basis so day 1 will show 1 column, through to (up to) day 31 showing 31 columns
Historically, I've been shrinking the width and font
That kind of works
Ideally though, I'd like to shrink width and font based upon the number of columns
I've looked in the past and never come up with an answer
Just been asked again as day 1 shows a very small report, so I thought I'd put it out there again
Any ideas?
Thanks
Damian.

Hi Damian,
Cell width is not adjustable dynamically or by an expression.
My main suggestion would be to landscape the page and use the ruler to ensure the cells are sized correctly to fit at least 31 days. If you size the report as A3 you have ample room to work on the display level of the report and it will also scale or shrink to fit cleanly into a landscaped A4 sheet when printed.
Kind regards,
Mike

Thanks
Bit of a shame as I it squashes everything up for the first few days of a month
I've got around different presentation formats by using rendering (hidden based upon export type)
This does mean duplicating the report item and applying different widths and fonts to the columns
It does, at least make the report look consistently good in html or Excel
