I am buying new hardware for a web database server running Server 2003 and SQL 2000 SP4. Upgrade to SQL 2005 should happen in about 6 months. I only want to buy a single Xeon processor due to license cost issues. Would it be worth buying a quad core processor over a dual core? For a similar price, I can get a 3.0 dual core Xeon or a 2.33 quad core Xeon. Any recommendations?
Thanks

Hard to say on that, but everyone seems to be recommending quad cores where possible.
