Can anyone tell me the maximum number of Intel Xeon duel core processors Windows Server 2003 can manage?
Does 1 Xeon duel core processor count as 4 with HT enabled and 2 with HT disabled? or, theoretically, could I slap 8 in a box and be on my way?
Thinking about it it would probably be 4, can anyone confirm?
Cheers.

You're right it would be 4. I just got a an HP DL 580 G3 w/ the new Intel dual-core Xeons. The processors show 16 HT and 8 non-HT.

Thanks,
Cmille19, how does your new box perform? everything youd hoped for?

Running two tests the first with single core Intel x64 Zeon and the second with dual. Both tests using same box just swapping out motherboards and flashing bios (The DL 580 G3 support dual-core), I'm seeing around a 30-50% improvement in average and max CPU usage for an identical load.
