Hi all,
I'd like DTS from a source on a web page http://...XX.xls into SQL Server. It is Not an FTP site.
I've tried but come up with strange error saying I've exceeded limit due to rowset. Anyone know if this is possible?

Dont know. Maybe you have to do as two parts, retrieve the file, then DTS. Looking forward to seeing what solution you come up with!

Not sure you can make an http request. I think DTS is making a NETBIOS request usijng the file protocols. You could script IE to retrieve the file and then DTS with it.

Thanks for the Replies,

My original plan was to use the FSO to get the file, then have DTS pour it into SQL DB

The reason for my post is I was hoping to skip a step and have DTS do it all.

You can use a scripted FTP to do it if that is supported.

Then add an ActiveX script task to your DTS package and use FSO from there.
