Folk’s any Idea’s?
I have a DTS package created by a developer who is no longer with us... Since the individual used a owner password to secure the package I am unable to access the package and take ownership... [~Sigh~]…any recommendations?

Find the guy and beat the crap out of him for not leaving documentation.
Unfortunately, the password is encrypted with the package data and unless you try a brute force type of hacking on the password you may never open. And more importantly he could not have set it without doing a save as so even older versions will have a password if you found and tried to delete them.
However, if there are any apps lying around or processes he had setup to run it they may contain the password somewhere.
Other than that you will have to build from scratch.

Thanks fer the Response…
Well no DTS Run statement to run a password checker against. So I will follow up on the first idea <personal satisfaction>…Really it’s my fault for allowing this level of development to occur on local systems instead of the Development Servers... Won't happen again!!!

If I find any other way I will pass along.
