I feel brain dead!!! I have an excel spreadsheet (excel 2003) 5 columns and about 350,000 rows that I'm trying to import into a new table. I created the new table and created a File DSN (ODBC Drivers) using Excel - when I do the import and get to the 'select source tables and views' screen.. it is not recognizing my excel input.. SOURCE IS BLANK. I've rebuilt my ODBC Driver a few times already.. anyone know what might be wrong??

Have you installed excel in the window server where the Sql Server is?

No, our infrastructure guys would never let me install office on their Server. I'm leaning toward chunking the excel file up and importing as an XLS file instead of the xlxs 2003 excel format.
The file is 380,000 rows so I should be able to break it up pretty quickly. I think my problem is importing an xlsx file into SQL Server 2000
