DTS persmissions only

  • I have several SQL 2000 servers. On these severs there are multiple small databases that are for purchased apps. I am the central admin, but some of these databases have their own dba. These DBAs have their own DTS jobs. How can give these DBAs correct persmissions to create and schedule their DTS packages and have access to the SQL Agent jobs without making them system admins?

    Thanks in advance,

  • The only permissions that I know of for DTS packages are those that are internal to the packages themselves (owner and user passwords), and permissions in the msdb database, which is where they are stored if you save them to SQL Server. You'll have to determine how to use this security to best serve your needs.
