I am running SQL v7.0 and have over 100 DTS packages that have been setup and jobs scheduled against those that run successfully. Recently I had to recreate a DTS job which was successful, and Executes successfully. However, when I attempt to Schedule that DTS package, it fails immediately with the following error:
Package Error
Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQL State 42000)
Login failed for user '(null)'. Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
I've searched Micrsoft and tried all their tricks, but no help.
Any help would be appreciated.

Check the job owner and change it to 'sa'.

Not sure I understand. The system will NOT create the job ... all I have is a DTS package created. I don't see an option in the DTS package to change the owner ...

Fred, I appreciate the info, but not sure where you want me to check. Are you talking about Enterprise manager, or Services? I looked at services and the local service is controlling the job.

Had the same error message on a different topic after i had installed a named instance. Whist i realised that this will not be the case if you are working in a 7.0 environment, just wondered if you had done a secondry install on your production server. Eventually my errors were resolved by a series of reboots. Good Luck.
