Hi,
I have created a DTS package which will import the data from an external csv file. when I'm trying to run the package I'm getting the error "Error Creating Datafile Mapping: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is not valied". How could i remove this error? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Sridhar!!

I know that this sounds bizarre but, try turning logging OFF for the package. Also, make sure that the .CSV has at least a carriage return in it...

Hi AJ Ahrens,
I have worked it out like this. I opened the file and saved it with other name. And when I ran it, it ran without errors.
I still don't know why the error occured. Thanks for your help.
Thanks,
Sridhar!!

I have the same error. I am using .DAT files for importing into SQL2000.
When the Dat file has a length of 0 bytes, I am getting this error.
Any insight appreciated.
