DTS Copy Objects Makes Data Disappear!

  • Whenever I run the copy objects, I just select stored procs, but all of the data in every table disappears....HELP!

  • There are several options on the wizard that deal with data. You need to uncheck these, also there have delete and create tables on those options show be sure you uncheck anything not needed to move the SPs over. If you are lost let me know I will get the details or someone else may post them.

  • Thanks, but I have been very careful that I am not selecting to delete anything from the tables. It seems like there is some sort of bug.

  • I havent heard of any bug that severe. Using SQL7 or SQL2K?

  • Can you post your full steps and I will try to test tomorrow. Also what version of SQL are you running?

  • I guess that I had checked to drop and recreate all objects, but I only selected the stored procedures, thinking it would just affect them--although all of the tables were dropped and recreated without data.

  • Run profiler against the recieving server looking at SQL Statements and see what commands are being sent to the destination. COuld be that Wizard has a problem and is causing this or something else may point the reason.
