DSN which is created using ODBC 32 bit is not available to MSSQL 2005.

  • Problem on my machine is, we need linked server connection to Sybase IQ database. We have Sybase IQ drivers/client installed on this machine (which is 32 bit version) and when you open ODBC 32 bit version you can see the driver there. We setup the DSN on ODBC32 bit and able to test it successfully. Same we tried testing from Sybase client using the same odbc name it works fine (here 32bit application using 32bit odbc).

Now, MSSQL 2005 is 64bit version and it is pointing to ODBC 64bit only, so DSN which is created using ODBC 32 bit is not available to MSSQL 2005.

Can any one help me...on how to resolve this.

    Thanks.....

  • Have you surfed to the Sybase site and downloaded the 64bit drivers for ODBC? Should allow you to build a new 64bit ODBC for SQL2005.
