I'm trying to create a simple import package to copy some tables from a production db to a dev db. I use the import wizard, select the table. When I click to edit mappings, the option to drop and recreate table is greyed out and I can't check it. What could be the issue?

Having the same issue. thought it was permissions but is happening for users that have sysadmin roles and are local administrators on the server.

In some cases? In all cases? I suspect that the tool believes you are in the middle of a process, where performing such activity is verboten. Are there times when you can go to these tables and not have the options greyed out?

I've tried different tables and databases and different times, even different recovery modes and these options are consistently greyed out. Running SQL Server 2005 SP2 with hotfix 3054 on W2K3 server.
