I've never used DQS, so I learned something new. Always a good way to end the week. Thanks.

Nice post.
But, one question here, do we not need to restore "DQS_STAGING_DATA" database also?
Thanks.

For the week-end a good question about a topic which I have really not used except twice during presentation. I have been surprised to have provided the correct answer ( I have hesitated to choose the 4th choice ).
So thanks for this question and I have dived in the provided link ( useful .... ).

Nice post. But, one question here, do we not need to restore "DQS_STAGING_DATA" database also?
As I am curious and a quick search i found in
" DQS_STAGING_DATA provides an intermediate staging database where you can copy your source data to perform DQS operations, and then export your processed data."
But my knowledge about DQS is too small to exploit this link.

Please , could you have a look at this link ?I think that you have to restore this database to the same state as it was before the modifications provided on Monday to be sure to have correct results.
You may need this. I confess I didn't restore a DQS system to test this, but it likely is needed.
However it doesn't affect the question and answer here as it's not mentioned.

Hi Steeve ,
I hope that you are not angry against me. I have done some research only as reflex I had often in forums from another site than SQL Server Central. Moreover , I am curious and it was a way to gain some new knowledge about a topic I don't use and have not really studied.
Ii was just a little add-in to a reply which was asking about a possible 3rd necessary restore.
And I have learnt something today , so I am happy....

Not angry at all. Just responding. I think you are likely correct that this is needed for DQS. What I'm not sure if if it's needed as a restore or just create a new db that DQS can use.
