This question seemed so easy, I thought there was a catch 😀
(and it has been such a long time since I openened that component...)
Need an answer? No, you need a question

Yes, I kept trying to think of what the catch would be. Sometimes it is that easy.

Kept thinking - "Where's the catch"
The catch is that there are actually many components that you can edit without having an active connection to the source. People without DQS experience might easily pick that as the most probably answer. (I almost did so myself, but decided to do a bit of double-checking first).

I made the assumption that the server connection was not actually required. I should have done more research first. Thanks for the question!
