Downgrading Enterprise to Standard

    Hi

    Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade Enterprise to Standard edition, as we have 3 servers that are currently running the wrong version? As Enterprise Edition is an extra £12k per processor to licence (6 processors in total), I've understandably been asked to try and downgrade them.

    If it’s not possible would it be ok to back up all the DBs, uninstall enterprise, install standard edition and then restore the DBs?

    You should be able to reinstall sql standard on top of the original enterprise edition - I seem to remember doing something similar in the past... Still take backups just in case.
