I have a server 2008 domain controller (tracker.mc is the domain) with a functional level of server 2003. I added a user to the domain controller (TRACKER\TrackerInstall). I have a clean install of server 2008 (SQL-2K8) that I added to the domain and set it's delegation to "Trust this computer for delegation to any service (Kerberos only)", then I installed SQL Server 2008. So far so good, right...
Now, I want to add TRACKER\TrackerInstall as a logon to my SQL Server by going to Browse... --> Locations... (change this to tracker.mc\Users) --> Advanced... --> Find Now... (Double-click on Tracker Install) --> OK. I give the user sys and server admin credentials and click OK to add the new login and I receive the following error:
Create failed for login 'TRACKER\TrackerInstall'.
An exception occurred while executing a transact SQL statement or batch (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)
Windows NT user or group 'TRACKER\TrackerInstall' not found. Check the name again (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15401)
I'm kind of at a loss, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
