Does Management Data Warehouse really need to monitor all these perfmon counters?

  • The default Server Activity - Performance Counters system collector captures the following perfmon counters every 60 seconds. I can only assume they are used in the Server Activity report.

    Questions

    - Does this seem rather excessive? as our Network admin guys said they will add considerable load on the DB server.

    - Why measure LogicalDisk instead of physical disk?
