Does Database Mirroring N Log Shipping UNAVAILABLE in SQL Server 2008 R2 STANDARD EDITION

    Hi,

    I have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard edition and created a database called Test. Now I'm trying to configure log shipping & Mirroring but I did NOT find the option for selecting Logshipping or Mirroring from database properities. Please see the attachment.

    Please advice me...I'm confused:hehe:

    What attachment?

    What's the recovery model of the DB?

    Sorry..Now I have attached the screen shot.

    The database is in FULL recovery model

    Here are the Edition details:

    select @@version

    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (X64)

    Apr 2 2010 15:48:46

    Which shows SQL 2008 R2 has Log shipping and database Mirroring as a part of High Availability.

    Hi,

    I have also the same issue with SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition RTM.

    No Mirroring and Log shipping options available when I click the database Properties.

    But I can see them in Developer Edition

    Is this a BUG in SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition RTM??

    Hi ,

    Again, I have installed SQL Server R2 Standard Edition x64 on new Windows 2003 R2 x64 and then created a Test database.

    When I click the properties of the Test database, then there is NO Mirroring & Log shipping options available

    Please advice

    Sorry to bug you again..

    BOL and all documentation says that Log shipping and Mirroring is available in SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition.

    But for me Mirroring and Log shipping are Unavailable

    When I click Database->Right Click->Tasks->Mirror->It shows database Properties but NO Mirroring and Log shipping option:hehe::hehe::hehe:
