Does Anyone know how you can copy values from a previous row into a null column in SSIS

I would still prefer to connect to the source database and run the select statement behind the report rather than consume the report as a data source.

As would I...   but you know how real life loves to throw curve-balls...

That's where bats, hammers, and high velocity pork chops become incredibly useful.

Not that a high velocity pork-chop wouldn't cause any pain, but it would have to move a lot faster than human hands can make happen to have as much impact as a similarly wielded bat or hammer.

That's just not a problem for me. 😉

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • Don't know why but that picture reminds me of the story of the RAF testing cockpits for bird-strike survivability by firing oven ready chickens at them.  When the USAF tried it they had a 100% failure rate.  Asking the RAF for advice, the reply came back

Try thawing them out first 🙂

I've heard that same story with many different countries but, no matter, it's still funny.

And in the case of the USA, it's actually true.  Where on earth did you find that picture?   That's just too precious.   All I could think of, however, was the considerable odor of pig poo associated with firing anything out their backside.   I couldn't quite stomach the idea of surgical implantation of a rocket... and seeing as that's the entire pig and not just a pork chop, that's a LOT more mass than a bat or a hammer, but I obviously get why you "don't worry about that"....   BTW, where do I sign up for my own personal jet of this variety?

IIRC, I was rummaging around for images associated with the phrase "When pigs fly".
