Does an SQL Server Server Need a Server Role

    Hi Folks

    We curently do not have any of our SQL Servers (2003,2008 R2) configured with a server role.

    They are strcitly used for SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 R2, respectively

    Does anyone know if it is necessay to do so ?

    Any info is appreciated

    well I guessing that out of all the MS and SQL Server gurus, no one has ever thought about this question nor dealt with it ? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !

    No, you don't have to setup a role.
