BPA is used to analyze and tell you what security changes that your server lags and also the basic maintenance tasks. it tell about the permissions, service account and lot. try using it in one of your server to see a sample report and it can be starting point for you.

It doesn't take much time to install & run. How much of a penny-pincher (or minute-pincher as it were) is your boss?
It is worth running at least once.
If your servers are perfectly configured, you will have confirmation. Something you can boast to your boss about.
If your servers aren't perfectly configured, you will have the opportunity to fix them, and know exactly what needs to be fixed. Something you can boast to your boss about.
Just make sure you read through the results carefully and determine whether any highlighted problems are actually problems. For example, on one of the servers I look after, there are a number of SQL logins that do not have password policies enforced. Much as I would like to sort that out, the app that uses those logins does not support complex passwords (either setting them or just entering them. Don't ask.), so it's not a problem that can be dealt with unless the vendor updates their app.
