DNS A records SQL 2008 R2 InstallFailoverClusterGlobalRules

    MS SQL 2008R2 with SP1.

    I have Active/Passive node in windows cluster and its working fine. when i am going install sql cluster so error when i am going to install sql cluster.

    1)

    Node 2: Cluster_IsUserAdmin Checks whether the user running this Setup operationp has remote access on the remote cluster node(s). Failed The user running this Setup operation must have sufficient privileges to access registry and service control manager on remote cluster node(s). Administrator privileges on the remote computer(s) is required.

    2)

    Node 1: Cluster_IsWMIServiceOperational Checks whether the WMI service is running on the cluster because Setup is dependent on this service. Failed The WMI service is not running on the cluster node.

    3)

    Node 2: Cluster_IsWMIServiceOperational Checks whether the WMI service is running on the cluster because Setup is dependent on this service. Failed The WMI service is not running on the cluster node.

    Node2: Cluster_RemoteRegistryServiceFacet Checks whether the Remote Registry service is enabled. Failed Remote Registry service is disabled on this computer.

  • 1. Are you installing the SQL Cluster as a domain user with sufficient access to the AD OU where the objects need to be created.

    2. Does the setup account have admin rights on both the Nodes you want to build the cluster on?

  • Check the windows firewall on each node and whether you have a network firewall device between the nodes

    Hi Clafleur,

    Problem is solved now, WMI error had a problem with " Server View Agent x64 " i un-installd that program and clear windows logs and re-start machine. I remove Fujitsu Server View Agent x64 ED from node 2 then node 1, re-boot machine.

    Then start sql server 2008 r2 installation, node 1 and then node 2 and its work fine on both nodes.
