Hi all,
I am pretty new to database thing and trying to learn so please excuse me for asking stupid question in here as I can not find any other place more helpful than this forum.
Let's say I have 2 SQL Servers (Enterprise 2K) and want to replicate data between these 2 and have Distributor on a seperate server.
1) Does it matter if the SQL on Distributor is not Enterprise but Standard or evern SQL Server 7?
2) Do I have to set up Distributor exactly the same as the other 2 servers eg structure / databases...? Or do I just simply install SQL and dont do anything else.
I'd much appreciate any input from anyone.

I do believe that the distributor has to be the same as the Publisher to be able to support all the features of the publisher. But the subscribers can be a down level server. I do know it has to be the same version (7 or 2000) but not 100% on the EE versus Standard.
