Hi,
I've recently re-applied Snap and Tran Replication. I added two subscribers, one on the local machine and one on a cluster.
The distribution for these is run through a job step.
The cluster takes about 1 hour..that's ok
The local subscriber takes hours when it should take about 15 mins...
The Publication is dropping and re-creating articles on the subscribers...the cluster is a staging db so that is fine but the local subscriber is a working copy of our live environment and it is having it's indexes replaced with those on the publisher ...so I dropped and reapplied the correct indexes on the local subscriber...would that affect the replication ????
I am about the set the article snapshot default to EMPTY table and not copy clustered indexes...that should solve the over-writing indexes am I correct???
Any comments would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards..Graeme

As an addition to my first message...
I've run a trace on the distribution to the local server and it looks like the subscription has been reinitialized and the data is being pushed out on a transaction basis..using the MSInsert procedures rather than the traditional way....the net effect is the subscriber takes an age to update...so I have to kill the agent and manually push out a new snaphot which runs in about 15 mins..
Does anyone have any thoughts on this ?
Many thanks...Graeme
