Hi friends i have small doubt in sql server plese tell me how to solve this issue.
table data contains like
name
sas programing
ssis programing
based on this table data i want display only 'gr' in output like
name
gr
gr
i tried like this
select substring(name,charindex('gr',name),len(name))
its show only position of number its not display 'gr'
plese tell me query how to solve this issuse in sql server.

select id, 'gr'
from sometable

select substring(name,charindex('gr',name),2)
from ...
worked for me!
