disabled certificate based accounts for policy management

  • Can I delete them?

(ps. sorry about the formatting I can't see how to standardise text size).

I have 2 x presumably installed by default users =

##MS_PolicyEventProcessingLogin##

    ##MS_PolicyTsqlExecutionLogin##

    They are disabled.

I like to keep a tidy server esp where logins are concerned. But … I don't want to cause any problems.

  • I guess that if you delete them, you will get problems if you try to use Policy Based Management. That is certainly a feature that is not very widely used. However, I would absolutely recommend against dropping any principals that comes with SQL Server. The benefit is miniscule and the problems you could run into are potentially larger.
