Hi,
I've been reading up on the TCP Chimney offload and the impacts on Windows Server 2003 SP2:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;948496
http://statisticsio.com/Home/tabid/36/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/305/TCP-Chimney-Offload.aspx
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;912222
I'm considering disabling this feature for all of my servers that run this OS.
There doesn't seem to be any benefits only negative impacts.
Anyone else out there disable this setting on all their servers?

I have never encountered any of these issues outlined in the reference articles. Thus, we have never pursued disabling the chimney. Since we still don't experience the problems, then I would recommend only pursuing the fix if you are experiencing on the problems outlined in the articles.

We are about to disable the TCP Chimney Offload feature. After about 8 months of the occasional failure we have been able to isolate it to this feature (see MS KB article 942861).
Hopefully by disabling this feature our problem will be resolved.

I had a giant problem with dropped packets if a NIC was running over 70% capacity...was resolved by disabling this feature. This only happened on a particular type of server (blade) with a specific NIC model (driver version had no impact). I have never seen this problem before or since and have never seen it impact SQL adversely.

So far, by disabling the TCP Chimney Offload feature our issue seems to have been resolved.

If you are running in AWS then disabling TCP Offload can give a performance benefit - it certainly did for my employer.
SQL FineBuild will by default disable TCP Offload as part of the SQL install process.
