Hello all,
I very new to DBA stuff. Most of my experience has been just installing SQL Server. Well we are having a vendor install some databases for patient care and apparently my install was not sound.
They are telling me that the version of Analysis Services (1600) is not the same as SQL Database Engine (2531). Both need to be the same for what they are trying to do.
Does anyone have any clue how I can change or upgrade one of these?
We have Sql Server 2008 but, I also have a disk for SQL server 2008 R2.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Sounds like you have Analysis Services at 2008 RTM (1600) and SQL Server at SP1 (2531).
You can bring them in line by running the Service Pack 1 installation on the server that has Analysis Services on it. If SQL Server and Analysis Services are on the same server then you run the Service Pack and just select the Analysis Services components to upgrade. There will be an outage.
There are newer Service Packs though - it might be worth upgrading it all to the latest version.
The Service Pack can be downloaded from support.microsoft.com
