Hi,
I´m have to implement a new differential backup routine using differential backups and Brighstor ARCServe.
The full SQL backups are ok, but when I perform a differential backup using ARCServe it finishes with the same size of a full database backup.
If I performed the same differential backups from SQL server management studio, the differential backup size is smaller than when I perform the backup using ARCServe.
I tried to configure the backup jobs setting Full clear archieve bit option and Full keep archieve bit option
The ARCServe version installed here is: 5.2.3790 SP 2 build 3790
Anybody knows how to configure ARCServe to use it with differential backups?
Thanks

Check your SQL logs and see if it is actually performing a differential or full backup.
For differential backup you would see: "Database differential changes were backed up. Database: "
For full backup: "Database backed up. Database: "

my condolences that you have to support ArcServe or anything made by CA
we used it 10 years ago, it never worked right and we switched to Netbackup. for all it's issues Netbackup works OK.
the software version you noted is Windows and not ArcServe.

I wouldn't worry about the differential backup so much as actually being able to restore from an Arcserve backup. Just curious as to whether you've tried it and actually been able to get it to work.
