Different Edition of Reporting Services

    Does anyone know if it is possible to run SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Standard Edition on an external SQL Server installation against SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition databases?

    I don't see why not. I have 2008 run on 2005.

    As long as SSRS can connect to the db and read the data it should be able to report on it.

    SQL Reporting Services are fairly agnostic in comparison to something like SQL Server Management Studio. I mean, it connects to Oracle (providing you have Oracle's dlls on the Server) without squaking!

    I would expect that you would be able to connect 2008 R2 to 2000, 2005, 2008, and 2008 R2 without any issues.
