Difference in Task manager and SQL Server Management on 64 Bit

  • Hi All,

My task manager says I'm using a 32 bit SQL Server like "sqlwb 32*' but my Management Console says it is a 64 bit version when i query through @@version.

    Why this difference?

    Thanks,

    Regards,

    ami

  • sqlwb32 is actually Management Studio, not the server itself. @@Version will give you the version of the server you're connected to.

So in your case you are using a 32-bit client which connects to a 64-bit server.

  • I queried from the same server management console only. not connecting to the server from client machines.
