Hi,
I have read lot of articles on MSDN websites but still not very clear on what is exact difference between adding user in Site Setting and adding user in Folder setting.
I am administrator in SQL server and I created and published few reports in Report Manager for other users to see the reports.
Since there was only 1 user and only 1 folder with all the reports for that users, I first thought I will go to Site Setting option -> Security -> New Role Assignment. Added NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users and gave system users role.
It did not worked and the user was not even able to access the Report Manager Link.
Then I went into the folder setting in the Home page. Clicked on New Role Assignment and added NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated. It worked.
What triggered the accessibility to the report manager for that user when adding NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users in the Folder setting instead of Site Settings?

Site settings are to grant users access to configuration and monitoring of the Report Manager instance.
Folder settings are to grant role access to users to view, schedule or edit the reports and folders. You can grant a user the Browser role in a folder to access and see reports, they do not the System User role for this.
